explorers

Teenagers between 15-19 years old, constitute the third section of a Scout Group, the Community of Explorers (ventures). A Community can have between 6 and 25 explorers.
The first Community of Explorers operated for the first time at the beginning of 1994. Up to then our Group hadn't got a Community of Explorers as a separate section and the Explorers, mainly, used to help the rankers of the Cub and Boy Scouts. It is the first Community that operated regularly in Pyrgos.
It has taken part with a total of four presentations at the Explorers Cultural Aquainting (activity where explorers from Peloponnese, present the results of their survey on social, environmental and cultural topics) the last three years.
In the summer of 1996 Explorers of our group undertook the hospitality of 40 Ukrainian Scouts at Skafidia.

This year's summer activity has been held on the island of Thassos on the North Greece for a total of 9 days, in cooperation with the explorers of the 9th Scout Group of Analipsi from Thessaloniki.
Another one of our explorers, Panoraia Spilipopoulou, took part in this year's Scout of The Nation tryout. She is the third of our explorers to be awarded the Badge of the Scout of The Nation, following D. Kolokotronis and G. Kouis who took part in the 2000 tryouts.
