I was brought to this world by Santa Claus, the first day of 1974 (already one millennium old). I learnt pretty fast my first letters which were "pi" in greek and "c++" in english but still having troubles learning rest of the alphabet. Growing up in a suburb of Athens is hard because of the traffic and pollution but I finally managed to survive using my oxygen mask. At the age of 14, after wasting my talent in the school basketball team (far behind the baseline holding team towels), I began playing with my home computer.
Some three years later, I have been accepted in the department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, at the NTUA. That was five years having a lot of fun! The final chapter was written at the robotics laboratory, where I made my diploma thesis with a software application of a robotic arm guided by a mounted camera. The application had to perform image processing and path planning, and then guide the arm in real time.

Phew! that was difficult! but I decided to go on and became a PhD candidate under the supervision of prof. Spyros Tzafestas. Although robotics and image processing was my initial target, I was invoked in other things as well (like a teaching assistance in expert systems). But I was very taken by computer graphics (that's what happens when you play doom and quake series) and my PhD finally focused on rendering and computational/differential geometry. In the meantime, I was trying to learn guitar (again) and developing graphics-related applications like Phos.

In 2002, it was finally time to join the army for my obligatory service. My feelings are mixed from that period, but I can say that the last 2 months paid off the rest of the service :)! From the mid-summer of 2003, I work as a freelancer offering services to companies in the fields of robotics, automation and image processing like Inos, a quality-inspection and robotic application developer company for the automotive industry, and in the field of computer graphics (take a look at Kerkythea render engine).
