In the field of neural networks, the Group has formed, in cooperation with the Neural Networks and Parallel Computing Group the "lmage Analysis and Parallel Processing" Research Unit and has been participating in many international EC projects, such as the ESPRIT 2092 ANNIE project, "Artificial Neural Networks for Industry in Europe" (1989-91), the ESPRIT Parallel Computing (PCA) Action (1990- 92), the HCM project "Novel Neural Networks" (1993-95), etc. The Unit is also acting as a managing node for Greece in the ESPRIT Basic Research Network of Excellence on Neural Networks ( 1993-96) .
