Funding
The workshop has received financial support from
AITO. This will enable the participation
of some students who would not afford to participate otherwise.
Funding is available for PhD students doing research in the area of
object-orientation. We would like to support all participants, but since
money is limited, we have established some funding criteria. We are aware
that no criteria could be perfectly fair. Our goal is to make them as fair
as possible for everybody.
The following criteria apply:
- The amount of funding given to an applicant will depend on the
estimated cost of his/her attendance, other fundings he/she received,
and his/her monthly income.
- Priority will be given to those applicants who have not previously
received funding for this workshop.
- The funding should help the participation of a reasonable number of
persons. This means that we will rather choose to support several
persons having lower travelling expenses than few persons having very
high travelling expenses.
- There will be a reasonably broad geographical distribution of
receivers of funding.
- There will be a special emphasis to support people from the former
socialist countries in Europe.
How to apply
To speed up the descision process we have changed the
funding rules a little bit.
An applicant must send an email to
Miguel Angel Pérez Toledano containing the following documents. The funding
decision will be based on this information:
- An estimate of the traveling costs for coming to ECOOP 2002, along
with a description of the intended traveling route and means of
transportation.
- A declaration of monthly income after deduction of tax, but without
deduction of living costs like rent, food, transportation.
- Detailed information about other sources of funding for
participation in the ECOOP 2002. This could be a statement that one has
not been able to obtain any other funding.
An applicant must
provide the following document in original:
- A signed declaration stating the following: "I, <name>, hereby
declare that all information concerning my funding is correct and
complete to the best of my knowledge. I will immediately notify the
workshop organizers of any changes that make this information incorrect
or incomplete."
