Spring School on Approximation and On Line algorithms
Announcement and call for papers
University of Paris-Sud, Orsay, May 17-19, 2001

From Thursday, May 17, to Saturday, May 19, 2001, there will be a Spring school at the University of Paris-Sud in Orsay, France, on Approximation and On Line algorithms. The spring school will consist of a series of survey talks, aimed at a general audience of graduate students and researchers interested in algorithms, and of a number of shorter, more technical contributions. A partial list of the survey talks is given below. Each of the speakers giving a survey lectures will contribute a survey paper which will be included in a book. The spring school is funded by the APPOL Thematic network. Participation is open. Participants include the following institutions: University of Kiel (Germany), Technical University of Berlin (Germany), University of Dortmund (Germany), University of Evry (France), University of Paris-Sud (France), Technical University of Athens (Greece), University of Roma (Italy), Teacher's Training College of Szeged (Hungary), Maastricht University (The Netherlands), Imperial College of London (UK), Technion (Israel), Tel-Aviv University (Israel), ETH Zurich (Switzerland).

To contribute a technical presentation: please contact kenyon@lri.fr with a title and a 1 page abstract, before April 1, 2001.
