Big Dummy's Guide to the Internet (2.2)

If you are connecting to this machine from a remote site, then you really ought to get your own local copy of this guide.

The European default server of this guide is ftp.Germany.EU.net, the directory is pub/books/big-dummys-guide. Look into the big-dummys-guide-texi subdirectory to find the PostScript, TeX DVI, GNU Info, HTML and ASCII versions and the Texinfo sources of this document. In the US, please get your own copy from ftp.EFF.org, the directory is pub/Net_Info/Big_Dummy/Big_Dummy_other_versions (edition 2.2).

There are of course some more repositories, that you might try first to get yourself a personal version of this guide, e.g. from the German sites, or other European sites, and even some on the rest of the Globe.

The HTML version you may now read is split up in more than 300 pieces, so you won't load the complete document at once. The recommended way for reading is to browse through the table of contents and read interesting chapters. If you find the document worth reading (I'm sure that you will), please download the compressed version via ftp (see above) and read it on your local system.
